Enjoy an exquisite 5-course dinner prepared exclusively for Japan America Society of Chicago members and guests. Takashi himself will give a brief presentation on his culinary background, the opening of Takashi Restaurant, and trends in Japanese fusion cuisine.

For the last 20 years, Takashi has been praised for his contemporary French cuisine enhanced by American and Asia twists.

He was most recently executive chef at Okada, at Wynn Las Vegas, the resort’s energetic, contemporary Japanese restaurant, for close to 2 years. Previously, he was Executive Chef of Tribute Restaurant in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where he won numerous national accolades for a menu that spotlighted modern French cuisine with an eclectic Asian twist.

In 2000 Food & Wine pronounced Yagihashi one of America’s Ten Best New Chefs, and in 2003, he was named James Beard Foundation Best Chef: Midwest.

Takashi is currently on the Macy’s Culinary Council, and is overseeing the development of a noodles and sushi quick service restaurant at Macy’s on State street in Chicago. He is also running his own restaurant, Takashi, which opened last December 31st.

Featuring French-American fare with Japanese influences, the restaurant’s contemporary cuisine includes ingredients of the highest quality from throughout the world including Maine, Japan and Austrailia.  At Takashi, the customer is able to have a more personal dining experience, where the cuisine and service of a fine dining establishment is combined with the warmth and accessibility of a neighborhood tavern.
